The Milrea Origin Story

Milrea was born from a moment of clarity at Genentech—watching authentic leadership transform crisis into possibility, where leaders genuinely cared for people as whole human beings, not just employees.

That's when I understood: take care of yourself first, then your family, then your work. This isn't selfish—it's essential. When leaders embody this philosophy, they create cultures where people can build processes and leverage technology that generate the data needed for wise decisions. It's a perpetual cycle—each element strengthening the others—but it only works when you start with genuinely caring for the whole person.

Founded to honor my greatest inspirations—my children Miller and Reagan—our name captures this philosophy at every level. "Mil," derived from Miller, connects to milling—the precise process of refining raw materials into valuable outcomes. "Rea," inspired by Reagan (affectionately known as Ray), symbolizes rays of light—warm, positive, and guiding. Much like photons harnessed in quantum computing, she embodies the positivity and creativity that illuminates paths toward breakthrough success. Together, "Milrea" means refining light—turning organizational chaos into strategic clarity through mind, body, and spirit.
